This may not seem much, but when you take into account that the world-wide-web as we know it has only been around for twelve - eighteen years, the company's lifetime is an impressive one.

BlueHost is well known in their market for offering cheap web hosting. Their web hosting plans are enormous in size - rarely are they successfully competed with. At the time of review, their plan offered 200GB of web space with 2,000GB of bandwidth, and we can only assume the size of the offering will increase with time (as it has done for the past ten years).

The company is aware though, that their plan could be exploited by resellers as it costs so little verses such a large offering. Therefore they have limited the number of domain names you can host on the account to six -which is in fact more than enough for any regular web site owner, in search of an affordable web site hosting plan. Bluehost.com offer just one web hosting plan - a "one size" that fits all. As far as shred hosting goes, we would be amazed to talk to someone who could outgrow the size of such a hosting package!

Blue Host offer a proprietary control panel - not the standard cPanel or Plesk Control Panel that is common to web hosts. This has enabled them to compete better with other market contenders, as they need not pay licensing costs. However - this means transferring your site to Blue Host can be a hassle.

Your account comes with the standard offerings - thousands of POP3 mailboxes, e-mail forwarders and auto responders. The host also provides iMAP e-mail support, which is becoming an increasingly rare feature in web hosting packages.

Bluehost.com's company size has paid off in terms of the number of servers they own. As a result of supporting a large roster of web servers for their clients, they are able to offer customers the choice between PHP4 and PHP5 - a remarkable offering that would please many users who would like to take advantage of PHP5's offerings or in the former case use scripts that are not yet PHP5 compatible.

BlueHost offer e-mail and toll-free telephone support, the hours of which have recently been extended to twenty-four hours a day. Therefore, whatever your time zone is, you will find support available. The support service is most definitely a premium, especially for an affordable web site hosting plan.

Overall, Bluehost.com is yet to be matched in terms of experience in their field - experience which has undoubtedly paid off from a customer's point of view.
